my degree is stats and economics (neoclassical economics at that) so I feel very lost when it comes to linear programming or other cybernetic adjacent topics that come up a lot on this forum.
does anyone have any textbooks or web series that they would recommend for someone who wants to teach themselves linear programming or network flow?
I'm in very much the same boat, I haven't put it to good use yet, but cibcom's intro text is quite good in case you haven't seen it yet.
I've gotten good use out of Linear and Nonlinear Programming by Luenberger and Ye. Let's see if the forum allows attaching pdfs.. Other than that, I just read various academic papers. Renegar's A polynomial-time algorithm, based on newton's method, for linear programming is the paper that originates barrier methods that are the basis for solving LP quickly.
